Goodbye 1 hello 2
David Dorn ushers out the old and welcomes the new. year, that is
As I type this, there's somewhat less than fourteen hours of the first year of the new Millennium left to go. Where I'm sitting, it's cold, very white and looks, frankly beautiful - and that more than can be said for the 364 days preceding this one.
In truth, it's been a killer of a year, and I really hope that it's not a harbinger for the next few years.
Aside from the repercussions of September 11th (which seem to have hit the IT world rather more heavily than anyone could have predicted) paper IT magazines have felt the squeeze quite badly, as advertisers have cut their spends. There is a body of opinion that poses the point that online magazines may well be damaging to paper ones. Given that PPC is one such, and has grown enormously over 2001, that could be the case.
But, as they say, there's no sense in looking back. 2002 will, I hope, be a better year for everyone. I'm going to keep this short, and simply wish each and every one of you a fulfilling and happy 2002, and promise you that we'll be here providing a magazine that, we hope, you want to read and interact with.
Have a very good time over this festive period, and keep on coming back!
Happy New Year!
