Change Word's default font

David Dorn got bored with Times Roman aeons ago, so he shows you how he made the switch

I see documents from all over the place - you'd be amazed at how many I get each day! One thing I've noticed, though, is that the majority of them seem to have Times Roman as their font. Is that because it's Word's default font?

If you're bored with Times Roman, try this:

1. Open a Word document.
2. Choose <Font> from the <Format> menu.
3. In the Font dialogue box, select the font and size you want as your default.
4. Click on the [Default] button at the bottom left corner of the box.
5. When Word asks if you're sure you want to do this, choose [Yes].

That's all there is to it - your chosen font and size (and colour, if you like) will be your new default font.
