Prepare e-mail messages offline

Every e-mail program will allow you to compose a message offline

Using AOL

  1. Open up AOL and then click on the [Write] button without signing on.
  2. Address and write your message, then click on [Send Later].
  3. Sign on and from the Mail menu, choose 'Mail Waiting to be Sent' and send the message(s).

Using Outlook Express (and others)

  1. Start the program, and OK the error message that will doubtless appear
  2. click on the [New] button.
  3. Write your message. Close it.
  4. Log onto your Internet service provider, open the program and click on the [Send/Receive] button.

In these days of unmetered connections, this tip might not save you any money, but it will give you the chance to reconsider a message typed in haste!
