Do you fancy some different desktop icons? Here's how to get them
You can get to a large stash of icons to use with your desktop shortcuts - here's how:
- Right click on the shortcut you want to change, and select <Properties>.
- Click on the 'Shortcut' tab
- Click on 'Advanced'
- You will need to select a file in which reside sets of icons. Try these:
C:\Windows\System\explorer.exe
C:\Program Files\Plus!\Microsoft Internet\IEXPLORE.EXE
C:\Windows\System\cool.dll
C:\Windows\System\pifmgr.dll
- Pick your new icon, and 'OK' your way back out
That's it, you've done it - your new icon will be assigned to your shortcut.
