Print Perfectly Every Time from Word
Have you ever had a laser printer scream at you for sending a 'Letter' sized page when it's loaded with A4? Here's the fix!
The number of times I've had people call me up complaining that their printer's upset - because the 'wrong sized paper is loaded' error message has come up - is beyond counting. Inevitably, they're using Word, and, just as inevitably, they've somehow managed to select 'Letter' paper size instead of A4 in their page settings.
There's a way round this, though, so that it doesn't matter whether you've got A4 or Letter selected.
Click on <Tools><Options> and then click the 'printing' tab. Click on the 'Allow A4/Letter paper resizing' check box so that it's ticked, and Word is clever enough to be able to translate between the two on the fly, as it were. That way, if your page is set for 'Letter' and you've got A4 loaded, it won't matter - your document will still print perfectly.
